We are medical officers doing general practice after working hours. Although we have government authorities, officers a GMOA to direct and Safeguard us in the hospital, neither officers nor authority were there to safeguard us in the private sector In the prevailing situation we needed an urgent friendly body for our safety.
So in this circumstance a group of doctors who are working in government sector joined together and formed the Medical Officer's Guild.
The inaugural meeting of the MOG was held in 2008 in Hotel Kumudu Wali in Wailkkal and Dr. Lal Anurasiri and Dr. Sriwantha Mendis were elected as founder President and Secretary respectively.
Our second Annual General Meeting was held in 2009 in Hotel Sea Shells Negombo and same office bearers were elected or again for the coming year.
The third Annual General Meeting was held in 14th of January 2010 with a good turnover with members and following office bearers were appointed.
